In spiritual and astrological traditions, the Full Moon is viewed as the culmination or harvest point of a cycle. It illuminates what has come to fruition, what lessons have been learned, and what is now complete. The New Moon, by contrast, begins a new cycle.
The period between the Full Moon and the New Moon is often seen as a time of harvest, reflection, and release. The Full Moon illuminates what has reached completion, while the waning moon invites us to gradually let go of what no longer belongs in our lives.
Rather than rushing to set new intentions, this is a time to ask:
What am I still carrying that belongs to a previous version of me?
This may be old emotions that haven’t been fully felt, past experiences you’re still identifying with, expectations that no longer resonate, relationships that have naturally run their course, or physical possessions taking up energetic and emotional space.
Think of nature after the harvest season. Before new seeds can be planted, the fields are cleared. There is wisdom in the pause. There is wisdom in creating space.
This is a powerful opportunity to clear out old emotions, past experiences, limiting beliefs, outdated identities, unfinished stories, and things we’ve accumulated that no longer serve our highest path. Not everything is meant to be carried forward.
This process feels especially important as we prepare to enter the energies of November and the 11 Gateway, a time many experience as heightened for awakening, alignment, and stepping into a new level of consciousness. The energies can feel more potent, bringing the final layers of what has been building throughout the year to the surface, asking to be acknowledged, released, and transformed.
The more space we create now—emotionally, physically, mentally, and energetically—the more available we become to receive the opportunities, insights, connections, and blessings waiting to emerge.
Between now and the New Moon, take time to reflect:
What am I still holding onto that belongs to the past?
What fears, attachments, or expectations am I ready to release?
What have I learned this year that I can harvest as wisdom rather than continue carrying as a burden?
What version of myself is asking to be fully embodied?
The invitation is not to force the future but to make room for it.
Simple Clearing Ritual
Find a quiet space and take a few deep breaths. Write down everything you are ready to release: emotions, fears, stories, habits, relationships, expectations, or possessions that no longer serve your highest path.
When complete, read the list aloud and say:
"I thank these experiences for their lessons. I now release all that no longer serves my growth. I create space for new opportunities, new energy, and new blessings to enter my life."
Safely burn, and spend a few moments imagining yourself stepping into a fresh and expanded version of your life.
Trust the wisdom of the harvest. Gather the lessons, leave behind the weight, and create space for new opportunities, relationships, abundance, and pathways waiting to emerge. The New Moon reminds us that every beginning starts with an ending. Trust what is leaving. It is making room for something greater. 🌙✨
Sometimes the most powerful action is not doing more, but allowing yourself to let go. 🤍
